I've got a windshield mount and a fisheye lens for my Galaxy Nexus. Do any of you happen to know if there's a video app that will do a better job at video stabilization, or if there's some software I can throw at the video that will smooth it out?

Do you have DailyRoads Voyager? That's what I use, although I don't have a fisheye... The video isn't that stable, not sure what can be done about that.
I have heard good things about Magisto, haven't used it myself.

Don't try and work on quality, just focus on capturing it. My experience has taught me that you're basically going to get what you're going to get from your camera and that its not even remotely worth it to stabilize in post past a few seconds of footage. Just search your local CL for hero 2 and 3's, they should be dirt cheap with the 3+ being announced.

I've tried this and there are surprisingly little savings to be had. That might be different elsewhere but where I'm at they're usually asking 75-80% of the original cost and that's not worth it to me for a piece of electronics that is used in punishing environments.

Russian dash cam needed? There's an app for that.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and thought of using it to record my laps at the track. Well, I thought better of it. Mounting options suck, and the quality is not all that great either.
I ended up getting a Chinese imitation of a GoPro and works great, just as good as the GoPro. Then I was able to use my Nexus for GPS lap timing.
